Laconia Bike Week end on this coming Sunday, Father's Day, June 21. Laconia New Hampshire’s Bike Week is expected to bring over 200,000 motorcyclist to their state. The economic impact of this influx of riders is huge for NH, with attendees spending $140.7 million during 2004, according to a study done by RKM Associates of Portsmouth NH.
Many of the riders who attend Bike Week travel through Vermont to attend. The event draws riders from across the country and riders traveling from points west often ride through Vermont to get to NH.
Last year, the Rutland Rally tried to capitalize on the proximity of the Northeast’s two big bike rallies, Americade in Lake George NY and Bike Week in Laconia NH to create a Vermont rally. The Rutland Rally was schedule for the week between Americade and Bike Week. The Rutland Rally was not held this year.
