The 10th Anniversary Jeff Wyand Miracle Ride to benefit pediatric oncology at Vermont Children’s Hospital is Sunday August 15th. Registration is 9 to 11:30 a.m. at the Vermont Children’s Hospital at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington VT. The parade style ride will end at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta in South Hero where there will be a BBQ celebration.
Riders can also buy into the Poker Crawl. Poker crawl players will receive cards at the registration site and at the rides end at Camp Ta-Kum-Ta. Prizes will be based on best hand and bust hand.
The ride honors Jeff Wyand of Plattsburg NY who died in 2006 from brain cancer at age 18. The motorcycle ride was started by Jeff’s father Tom Wyand during Jeff’s illness to raise money for families of children who had cancer. After Jeff’s death, the ride was renamed the Jeff Wyand Miracle Ride.
Companion rides will leave from North End Harley Davidson/Lake City Choppers in Plattsburg NY and from the American Legion Post 1619 in West Plattsburg NY. Both rides will begin registration at 8 a.m. and leave for Vermont at 9:30 a.m.
Proceeds from the ride support clinical care of pediatric cancer patients at Vermont Children’s Hospital.
