Dream Ride Day 2009

The Special Olympics annual Dream Ride Day event will be held on Saturday and Sunday August 22nd and 23rd. Vermont riders will depart on Saturday and join riders from multiple states in Farmington CT on Sunday the 23rd.
The ride takes place simultaneously in numerous states include Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, Pennsylvania and Connecticut and involves both motorcycle and car enthusiasts to raise money for the Special Olympics. This year it is estimated that over 6,000 cars and motorcycles will participate.
Wilkins Harley Davidson of Barre and Green Mountain Harley Davidson in Essex Junction will be leading a Vermont ride. Riders can register at Green Mountain Harley Davidson at 9 a.m. or Wilkins HD at 10 a.m. The Essex Junction riders will depart at 10 and ride to Barre where they will join together for the ride to CT. The ride to CT will depart at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
Registration can be done on the web or with paper forms found at both of the Vermont dealerships. Pre-registration is encouraged to make ride day logistics easier.
The Hartford CT Marriot (860) 678-1000 is offering participants a reduced rate for the event.
The money raised stays in the state that raises it. Vermont riders will raise money for Vermont's 776 athletes.
