The 18th Annual International Ride Your Motorcycle & Scooter to Work Day is Monday, June 15th 2009. Ride to work day promotes motorcycle commuting and raises awareness of the positive benefits of motorcycles for the non-motorcycling community.
The Ride to Work web site has signs, posters and pass-along cards that you can use in your workplace to help promote the day and raise awareness.
There are over 6 million motorcycles in the United State, yet only about 10% are used for commuting. Using motorcycles for commuting would have a strong benefit for fossil fuels consumption (excluding, of course, the extra miles you'll ride, just because it's fun!) and help to reduce costs (excluding, of course, tires, chains and sprockets). Even factoring in "fun-miles", commuting on your motorcycle is way cheaper, more environmentally conscious and far cooler than using your SUV.
If you work in your home, schedule a meeting with a customer on June 15th and ride your motorcycle. Live to Ride. Ride to Work. Work to Ride!
